Matthew S. Conti, MD

Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Matthew S. Conti (he/him) is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery and treats a wide range of both operative and non-operative foot and ankle issues.  He is also an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Conti is an active member of the orthopedic community. He has over 10 years of research experience collaborating with other top leaders in the field. Within the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), he created an educational podcast (AOFAS Resident Lecture Podcast Series) and hosts the “Ask the Expert” webinar to discuss tough cases from around the world.

Outside of work, Dr. Conti founded the non-profit organization Our Hearts to Your Soles, which has provided medical care and over 40,000 pairs of shoes to impoverished people across the United States since 2004.

Eric Johnson

Physician Assistant

Eric Johnson (he/his) has been at the Hospital for Special Surgery since 2022 providing operative and peri-operative care for patients undergoing all types of surgery. He joined Dr. Conti's team in 2023 and is excited to use his experience and knowledge to provide excellent patient care with Dr. Conti.

Eric was born in New Jersey and has lived all over the eastern US including upstate New York, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Prior to pursuing a college degree, Eric enlisted in the US Army where he spent 5 years as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. His undergraduate studies were completed at William Paterson University with majors in both athletic training and exercise science. He then attended Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences to earn his master’s degree in physician assistant studies.

In his free time, Eric enjoys rock climbing and hiking as well as many other outdoor activities.

Geraldine Valerio

Office Manager

Geraldine Valerio (she/her) has been at the Hospital for Special Surgery since 2019, providing quality patient care and experience excellence. She has dedicated over 8 years as an administrative professional in the healthcare industry and has extensive knowledge of the aspects of an orthopedic practice. She enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with the day-to-day operations of an office. 

Geri was born and raised in the Bronx and attended CUNY Lehman College for her bachelor’s degree. She graduated with a Sociology major and a minor in Public Health.

In her free time, Geri enjoys watching movies with her daughter, Nylah, and helping her practice volleyball. She also loves nature and traveling to the Dominican Republic with her family.

Vidya “Leann” Raj

Medical Secretary

Vidya “Leann” Raj (she/her) is a dedicated and experienced medical secretary with a passion for providing outstanding patient care. With over four years of experience in a dental office setting, Leann has developed a strong foundation in administrative tasks and patient coordination.

With her strong organizational skills and attention to detail, Leann is dedicated to assisting Dr. Conti in providing the highest quality of care to patients. She is committed to maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism in all aspects of her role.

Leann is excited to be a part of Dr. Conti’s team and looks forward to contributing her skills and expertise to the office!
